June 1st marks a special Pinewood Table* writing group reading with Cecily Patterson, Debora Chandler, Dale Woods, Steve Denniston, and Kirsten Larson.

Cecily Patterson's work has been published in Pennsylvania Review, Ontario Quarterly and Room of One's Own. She has an MFA from U Pittsburgh where she studied with Lewis Nordan, and has recently finished her first novel, The Book of Boys. Her current work is another long piece of fiction.
Debora Chandler has studied with Lee Smith, Lois Lowry, Jane Yolen and Ursula LeGuin, and she has written curriculum for pre-schoolers as well as about 237 pounds of hardware/software documentation. She is working on a novel about loss, grief and solace in the aftermath of the influenza epidemic of 1918.
Dale Woods is a CPA who is working on a novel about a CPA who buys a fixer in a colorful northeast Portland neighborhood as he seeks love. His short essay about pencil sharpeners was published in the 'zine Dixon Ticonderoga.
Steve Denniston is a special ed teacher and novelist who has also published his work in the 'zine Dixon Ticonderoga. He read at the launch of that 'zine at St John's Booksellers and in Estacada at The Springwater Grange Writers' Night. His novel is about love and life in the Oregon town of Dufur.
Kirsten Larson is one math class away from finishing a a BS in Liberal Studies with a writing minor at PSU. Her essays and poetry have appeared in the Oregonian, the journal Pathos and M Review. Her current project is a novel about paternal identity and social power called "Colony Collapse Disorder."
