Betty Lynch Husted is an award-winning essayist, short story writer and memoirist, whose 2004 book of memoir essays, Above the Clearwater, Living on Stolen Land, was a finalist for the Oregon Book Award. Her first full-length collection of poems, At This Distance, gives a sharp, clear view of Oregon out the car window as she travels the distance between Pendleton and Portland, seeing with both the outer eye of the road traveler and the inner eye of someone who grew up in and deeply knows and loves the land.
Robert A. Davies is a retired Pacific University professor who lives in Portland. He co-edited the respected international journal Mr. Cogito for 25 years. His poetry is inspired by dreams, by the quiet of the forest and by the clashing of bottles in a beggar's cart. He has three published collections of poems, Tracks in Oregon, Timber, an Oregon Poem, and Sometimes Subversive. Tracks in Oregon was a finalist for the Oregon Book Award. His work has appeared widely in little magazines and online at CounterPunch.com, Poetrymagazine.com and writersdojo.org.
