Critique Circle with Dao Strom

A two-session workshop in which story-writers submit pieces of work-in-progress and then receive constructive, insightful, community critiques. We sit in a "circle." Everyone comes prepared to discuss (stories having been submitted and distributed before class meeting), and we thoughtfully critique the work in progress. The critique circle is an excellent follow-up for any writers who have taken Dao Strom's Writing the Lives of Girls and Women, or The Long Story class, and who may've started work in those classes or have been producing work on their own since then. It is also excellent for any writers working on fiction or creative nonfiction pieces, who would like intellectual and inspiring interaction with a community of like-minded writers. The emphasis will be on providing thorough, beneficial critique and discussing the art of writing in general. We will cap off our "critique circle" workshop sessions with one final (optional) salon-type gathering that merges writers from all "critique circle" sessions with Dao Strom where writers will have the opportunity to read and present a short excerpt of their prose for our "critique circle" community.
