The first poetry workshop of 2012 adds a new wrinkle to the classic critique gathering. This time around, we’ll spend half our time workshopping and critiquing our work, and the other half of the time generating new poems. This workshop comes in response to a concern voiced by a number of writers: the desire to have time to generate new poems while still getting the opportunity to pound away at craft, voice and form with the help of others.
Previous workshop experience will be helpful but is not necessary. This 10-week poetry workshop will be held at the Writers’ Dojo in the St. John’s neighborhood in North Portland.
COST: $275, payable in one or two installments
DATES and TIMES: Saturday afternoons, 1 – 4 p.m., starting January 14 and ending March 17.
